Use your student card to:
Your library borrower number is 9 digits (UB number PLUS issue number, both found on your student card). You will be given your PIN at the same time as your University username and password when you register

Yes! We have a web-based email service called Webmail, so you can access your email from any computer, anywhere. Login to Webmail frequently to make sure you don’t miss important messages. A user guide is available (Acrobat) (Word).
Important: do not open email attachments unless you recognise and trust the source These can contain viruses which are harmful to PCs. Also, NEVER give out your username and password to anyone. If you receive an email requesting confirmation of these, please delete it - this is a phishing email and is not genuine, no matter how convincing it appears!
We have a number of PC rooms, also called cluster rooms (some include CD / DVD writers and scanners) in the J B Priestley Building and across campus. You can check computer availability on campus (you can also get this on your mobile phone via our www.braduni.mobi service (normal data charges apply - check with your supplier).
We also have group study rooms (for 3 or more people), which can be booked via the catalogue. There are, in addtional, individual study rooms on Floors 02, 1 and 2, as well as open work spaces on all floors.
We’ve given you 100MB of disk space to use on our central server. This is called your M:\ drive. Always keep a backup copy of your work - J B Priestley Library counter sells storage disks and other consumables.
You can use Resnet (our free Broadband-like service) in Halls of Residence – see the full list of connected Halls. Got a laptop or other portable device? Connect to the Roamnet Service, where available.

Use the self-issue machines to borrow everything except for Quick Service items and books you’ve requested - go to the counter for these.
Tip!you can still borrow, with fines up to £5..
Call our 24-hour renewals service - 01274 233342, or login to your record via the Library Catalogue. You can’t renew if you have a fine of £5 or more, or if the book has been reserved.
Use the self-returns machine in the J B Priestley Building, or go to the counters at the Health Studies and Management Libraries.You can also drop books into the chute in the wall outside the J B Priestley Building.

Additional Library services are available if you’re enrolled on an eligible distance learning course. The Learner Development Unit also provides online study materials to support distance learners and there is a special group in the Develop Me! social network just for distance learners.
The Graduate School offers short courses and accredited research training. There are also IT drop-in workshops available, in Room F29, Richmond Building on Wednesdays, 1-3pm.

Pre-paid calling cards are available from the libraries and cashiers desk. No joining fee or upfront service charge are required - see the Resnet Web site.
Your health, safety and security are important. If the fire alarm sounds, leave the building immediately. Make sure you know what to do in the event of accident, theft or emergency whilst you are in our buildings.
