Corporate Mobile Usage Whilst Abroad

Tariffs

As per the terms of the Univeristy Mobile Device Usage Policy, it is the responsibility of the end user and their manager / administrator to ensure that the user is on the correct mobile phone tariff for when traveling abroad. Being on the incorrect tariff can result in large bills for usage whilst abroad.

Roaming Voice Tariffs

Unfortunately there is only one roaming voice package that is available to public sector vodafone users:

Tariff Name - VF Europe

Included countries are:

Czech Republic	France	Germany
Greece	Hungary	Italy
Malta	Netherlands	Portugal
Republic of Ireland	Romania	Spain

• Costs £20.00 per month
• Calls to any of these countries (whilst in one of these countries) or the UK are charged at 5ppm
• Likewise text messages are charged at 5p

If you are planning on travelling abroad and wish to have the Vodafone Europe bundle added to your account then please contact ICT Servicesk to request it. Please note that this tariff must be left on your account for a minimum of 30 days. You should notify Service Desk after 30 days when you want the bundle removing.

Roaming Data Tariffs

By default all corporate University Smartphone users will have been moved on to two roaming data tariffs below with effect from the beginning of February 2012.

Tariff Name - DATARDENT

• £1.66 per day (ex VAT) - only charged for days you use mobile (3G) internet whilst abroad.
• 5mb data allowance per day if in:
  

  Albania	Bosnia & Herzegovina	Bulgaria
  Channel Islands	Croatia	Cyprus
  Denmark	Estonia	Finland
  French West Indies	Gibralta	Iceland
  Latvia	Liechtenstein	Lithuania
  Luxembourg	Monaco	Norway
  Poland	Slovakia	Sweden

• 25mb data allowance per day if in:
  

  Austria	Belgium	Czech Republic
  France	Germany	Greece
  Hungary	Ireland	Italy
  Malta	Netherlands	Portugal
  Romania	Spain	Switzerland

Tariff Name - DATARWENT

• £5 per day.
• Only charged for days you use mobile (3G) internet whilst outside EU.
• Allowed up to 25mb per day.
• If no roaming bundle was applied default price would be £4 - £8 per mb depending upon country

Alternative Roaming Data Bundles

For the majority of users the default roaming data bundles that we have placed you on should offer best value for money. However, there are some scenarios where one of the below packages may be more favourable, usually if you are abroad for a long time, and/or you will only be using a small amount of data. If you wished to be moved on to any of the below packages, please contact ICT Service Desk.

Tariff Name - DATARMENT

• £8.34 per month (ex VAT) - only charged for days you use mobile (3G) internet whilst abroad.
• 5mb data allowance per day if in:
  

  Albania	Iceland	Bosnia & Herzegovina
  Bulgaria	Channel Islands	Croatia
  Cyprus	Denmark	Estonia
  Finland	French West Indies	Gibralta
  Latvia	Liechtenstein	Lithuania
  Luxembourg	Monaco	Norway
  Poland	Slovakia	Sweden

• 25mb data allowance per day if in:
  

  Austria	Belgium	Czech Republic
  France	Germany	Greece
  Hungary	Ireland	Italy
  Malta	Netherlands	Portugal
  Romania	Spain	Switzerland

• This package may be a better option than DATARDENT if you are traveling in Europe and plan to use data on 7 different days or more.

Tariff Name - 10MBHHR

• £15 per month.
• Charged whether or not you are abroad or use data.
• 10mb allowance on any network, world wide.
• Must be left on for a month, and you then need to contact service desk to have it removed.
• Only value for money if you are roaming outside of EU formore than 3 days but don't plan on using much data.

Tariff Name - 50MBHHR

• £50 per month.
• Charged whether or not you are abroad or use data.
• 50mb allowance on any network, world wide.
• Must be left on for a month, and you then need to contact service desk to have it removed.
• Only value for money if you are roaming outside of EU formore than 10 days but don't plan on using much data.
