Mobile Technology

The University offers limited support for mobile devices. If you use mobile devices at the University then please join the Mobile Technology Mailing List, and if you have any problems with your device, please raise a job with the ICT Service Desk

If there are areas of particular interest that are not yet covered by this web site then please let me know, along with any resources that might be useful to other staff or students. I can be contacted at J.R.Fairhall@bradford.ac.uk.

To join the Corporate Mobile Scheme

  1. Agree the business need and funding with your line manager.
  2. Your manager must complete the Guidelines for Procurement of Mobile Devices and Request for a Corporate Mobile Device Form and order the device through E5 (see example pdf).
  3. The mobile phone user must read the University Mobile Device Usage Policy (docx, 125KB) (pdf, 216KB).
  4. The mobile phone user must read and agree the Mobile Device Acceptance Form.
  5. If you are ordering an iPhone and wish to have wireless access to email and Meeting Maker you must also use E5 to order '1 X NotifyLink iPhone licence'.
  6. ICT Servicedesk will contact you when the device arrives to arrange setup.

To upgrade your handset

  1. Handsets are only upgradable after 2 years. Check with ICT Servicedesk for your upgrade date.
  2. Agree the business need and funding with your line manager and ask them to complete the Guidelines for Procurement of Mobile Devices and Request for a Corporate Mobile Device Form and to order the device through E5 (see example pdf).
  3. If you are ordering an iPhone and wish to have wireless access to email and Meeting Maker, where you have not previously, you must also use E5 to order '1 X NotifyLink iPhone licence'.
  4. ICT Servicedesk will contact you when the device arrives to arrange setup.
