MATLAB handles a range of computing tasks in engineering and science: from data acquisition and analysis to application development. The MATLAB environment integrates mathematical computing, visualization, and a powerful technical language. Built-in interfaces let you quickly access and import data from: instruments, files, external databases and programs. In addition, MATLAB lets you integrate external routines written in C, C++, Fortran, and Java with your MATLAB applications.
Matlab is available on all Learner Support Services cluster PCs. Matlab can be installed on PCs in your department from UoB Apps on the Start menu. These PCs must be networked to the campus network in order to have access to the license. Those who have not got access to UoB Apps can obtain the installation DVD via the Library Welcome Desk. Installation from a DVD requires an activation key, a file installation key and a license file. Keys can be obtained via ICT Servicedesk.
Matlab Student Version (consisting the core module and few Toolboxes) can be bought from bookshops or via the Internet.
