The city of Skopje suffered a catastrophic earthquake on 26 July 1963. Then part of Yugoslavia, the city is now the capital of the Republic of Macedonia.
A team of students from the Bradford Institute of Technology, the institution which later became the University of Bradford, assisted in the reconstruction efforts. The Collection consists of books, pamphlets and photograph albums presented to a group of these students in 1966, to commemorate their assistance. The photographs show reconstruction work after the earthquake, views of the University of Skopje, and the 1966 visit by the students to Skopje. The books and pamphlets are in several languages, including English, Serbo-Croat and Macedonian.
