How to access PubMed

To access this resource:

  1. Go to the PubMed web site

No password is required to access PubMed.

However, you may need a password to access journals via the full text links. Please check the Library catalogue to find details for individual journal titles.

PubMed provides a very simple interface to Medline. If you have a very complex search you may prefer to access Medline via Ovid Online.

What is PubMed?

PubMed is the US National Library of Medicine interface to Medline, its guide to journal articles in medicine, and a number of other related databases.

It is an excellent source of information on medical topics.

It is a guide to journal articles. In a small number of cases you will find links to the full text but usually you will have to find the material yourself. For Bradford users, you will have to check the catalogue to see whether we have the article in stock. If we don't, you can get a copy via Inter-Library Loans.
