eBooks

The Library is currently developing its ebook provision to members of the University. At present students and staff can view the content of over 500 ebooks on various topics. All ebooks available at Bradford may be located via the Library Catalogue below via a keyword search. Further down the page are listed a selection of ebook packages students and staff at Bradford have access to, as well as a number of free ebook services.

Finding eBooks via the Library Catalogue

Find eBooks via Publisher/Supplier Sites

Below are tables containing collections and resources subscribed to by the Library. Access details are given in the middle column and a description of content in the last column. Click on the resource name in the first column to gain access to it. Please be aware that the Library has not purchased all ebooks within these resources. When browsing for contents you will usually only see ebooks the Library owns but it is still recommended that you limit your searches to only include owned content.

Dawsonera Access via Athens A selection of ebooks on a variety of subjects.
eHRAF World Cultures Access off campus with a password eHRAF World Cultures contains the full text of around 4000 books, articles and dissertations on anthropology, ethnography sociology and related subjects such as traditional medicine. You can search for books by author, title or keyword. Alternatively, choose the basic tab to search the full text of the books.
FORENSICnetBASE Access on-campus without a password and off-campus via Athens Over 160 ebooks are available on topics like arson & fire investigation, computer crime, criminal justice & law, forensic pathology, forensics, law enforcement and security management.
HeinOnline Access via Athens The Legal Classics collection on HeinOnline gives access to a selection of law monographs.
MyiLibrary Access on-campus without a password and off-campus via Athens A selection of ebooks on a variety of subject areas.
Netlibrary (OCLC) Access via Athens A selection of ebooks on a variety of subject areas.

Free Electronic Book Resources

Below you will find a selection of free ebook platforms and listings. Although free downloading is available copyright terms still need to be observed.

e-DPS Free A selection of free ebooks on Computing, Digital Signal Processing, Electronics and Mathematics. Downloading is allowed for private and personal study use.
eScholarship Editions Free The collection includes over 2000 books from academic presses on a range of topics, including art, science, history, music, religion, and fiction. More than 500 of these are available for free download. Content is free for non-commercial use.
FreeBooks4Doctors Free Over 650 medical ebooks freely available in full text for personal study and research.
Knovel Free Members of the University of Bradford have access to a selection of engineering and chemical engineering ebooks (The K-Essentials Collections only!) including data in downloadable Excel® format.
Online Books Page Free Over 25,000 ebooks are available for free via this University of Pennsylvania website. Read the Copyrights and Permissions information before downloading content.
Project Gutenberg Free More than 20,000 free full text ebooks available on a range of topics. Download terms and conditions.
