British National Formulary for Children (BNFC)

How to access BNFC

  1. Go to the BNFC web site
  2. Access is free to all users, but registration is required. If you haven't registered click on Free Registration. If you have registered enter your details in the login boxes and click login.

What is BNFC?

The British National Formulary for Children (BNFC) is a joint publication of the British Medical Association, the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain, the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and the Neonatal and Paediatric Pharmacists Group.

It provides up-to-date access to key information on the selection, prescribing, dispensing and administration of medicines for childhood disorders, including advice on licensed and ‘off-label’ use.

The Web site includes the full text of the BNFC.

Access is free to all users, but registration is required. (If you have already registered to use the British National Formulary you may use the same password to access the British National Formulary for Children. Please note that access via Athens is available only to NHS staff.
