The University of Bradford is pleased to welcome applications from Pakistan. When you apply, we will consider your educational qualifications, your English Language level and, in some cases, your relevant work experience. Entry requirements will vary according to the course you are applying for, but we hope that the following information will be useful as a guide to our entry requirements.
Bradford welcomes students who have completed their HSC (formerly FSc/FA). Our normal requirement, certainly for courses in Engineering or Informatics areas, is that you should have obtained an overall average of at least 70%. Courses in Management or Life Sciences may require even higher scores. Where a course has a specific subject requirement (for example, Mathematics for Engineering), then you will also need to have obtained 70% in this particular subject.
It is possible to enter directly into the second year of some of our Bachelor's courses if you have obtained at least 60% in a two-year BSc or BCom degree.
Additionally, Bradford welcomes A-Level and IB students from International Schools.
If you do not quite achieve the level required for direct entry to the first year of your chosen course, it may be possible for us to offer you a place on one of our Foundation programmes. The entry requirement for Foundation Year Programmes courses is, typically, 60% or more.
Bradford provides a wide variety of course specific and English language Foundation Year Programmes, to enable you to enter the degree of your choice. These programmes may be suitable for students who have been out of education for a while or need a preparation/conversion year to gain entry to the bachelor degree of their choice.
Bradford welcomes applicants for taught Master's degrees from anyone with a good Pakistani university degree qualification. Our normal requirement is for at least 60% in a two-year MSc or MCom degree; or 60% in a (three- or four-year) BA, BSc or BEng Honours degree; in each case from a recognised university. Some courses (in Engineering and Informatics) may be able to admit students who narrowly fail to reach this standard. However, other courses (for example, the specialist Finance and Marketing courses at the School of Management) may require higher scores.
Candidates for Bradford's renowned MBA course will need to demonstrate that they have had significant managerial experience. Our regulations specify a minimum of three years of post graduation work experience, but please note that the mere fact that you have worked for three years since your graduation does not necessarily mean you have the level of managerial experience we require. The average length of work experience successful applicants have is between five and six years. MBA applicants will also be required to take an on-line Bradford Admissions Test.
Students with more advanced qualifications and a well-thought out research proposal can be considered for MPhil / PhD level study.
