The new e-guide for completing the DBS application form is now up and running on their website. Click here to access it, and view guidance on how to download and use it.
Taking a section-by-section approach, the e-guide demonstrates how to complete the application form, avoiding rejections and ultimately, delays that follow. Moving to a digital process has enabled the DBS to open their reach as the e-guide is available for you to download 24 hours a day

The University has launched a new enhanced online recruitment system that has been customised to our needs based on feedback.
The system offers a number of benefits both for applicants and the University. The system will help to promote externally the professional image of the University and help to improve and streamline the recruitment service we currently offer.
Recruiting managers will be notified if their job will be advertised through the new system and offered support and guidance.
The new site can be found at http://jobs.bradford.ac.uk. Staff will be required to register with the system before applying for a position. Internal and external vacancies will now be found on the same site.

The CRB merged with the ISA to form the DBS in December 2012. Guidance to these changes can be found on the Disclosure and Barring Service pages.

The national pay negotiations have been concluded; UCU, Unite, Unison and GMB have all either accepted or ‘noted’ the employers' offer a 1% uplift to all points on the national pay spine. In addition the employers have agreed to joint working on equality-related issues initially raised in the trade unions’ claim.
The award will be backdated to 1 August 2012 and will be paid in the January salary.

Please note that if you intend to offer an honorary or non-paid position to a Non-EU National you will need to check their eligibility to take up the role and, where appropriate, reimbursement of travel and associated expenses.
It is likely that a Non-EU National will need to make special arrangements to obtain a Business Visa from the UK Border Agency PRIOR to their visit to the UK, and they will need to allow adequate time for this before their honorary appointment commences.
