Language support
Support classes for international students
The University Language Centre provides language support classes that are available throughout the academic year (September - May) for all international students, free of charge. These classes include:
- Academic writing
- Academic listening, discussion and note-taking
- Speech and pronunciation
- Academic reading and note-taking
To join a class you need to take an initial test to assess your level so that you can be allocated to an appropriate group.
Sessions are repeated at different times during the week so that students can try to fit a session into their timetable.
One to one sessions
The Language Centre provides one to one sessions for students who need additional help. These are run as drop-in sessions but at busy periods it is advisable to make an appointment.
