Debts to the University
If you have any debts as of the 27th May 2011 it may prevent you from attending your graduation.
- If you have any outstanding debts to the University of more than £100 you will not be permitted to graduate at the ceremony and your certificate will not be issued. You will also forfeit the right to attend any future ceremonies.
- If you have an outstanding debt of less than £100 by the deadline your award will be conferred but your certificate will be withheld until the payment has been made in full.
Debts to the University include outstanding
- Tuition Fees (including sponsored students)
- accommodation charges
- library fines and books
- University Nursery fees
- parking fines
- loans from the Access to Learning Fund
- debts to Partner Institutions.
We aim to inform you of the amount of any outstanding debt at the time of invitation to the ceremony*. However, it is your responsibility to ensure you have no outstanding financial obligations to the university.

*Although every effort will be made to inform students of books and fines outstanding with the University Library, it will not be possible to do this until after the end of term, please ensure that all books are returned by this date.
