BSc (Hons) Health, Wellbeing and Social Care 3 years

Health and wellbeing is vital to the long-term prosperity of individuals and organisations. The BSc (Hons) in Health Well Being and Social Care considers current practice and future directions for improving health and well being of the whole community. It identifies economic, social and environmental factors that influence our health, and emphasises the need for strategic initiatives to improve the health and well being of our community through partnerships between health, social care and other public, private and voluntary sector organisations.

The BSc (Hons) in Health Well Being and Social Care is a broad-based academic health and social care, which will enable you to work in a variety of health and social care positions after your studies. You will study a wide range of modules on subjects such as Media Perspectives on Health and Social Care, Health Education and Promotion, Psychological Perspectives on Health and Social Care and Research.

A key strength of this programme is the focus on enterprise, employability and entrepreneurship and the work based learning modules that have been designed to prepare you with the knowledge and skills for employment in a wide range of health and social care enterprises. During the course you will develop a portfolio of evidence to support and prepare you for employment.

The BSc (Hons) Health, Wellbeing and Social Care is a broad based academic health, wellbeing and social care programme which covers topics such as food and health, complementary and alternative medicine and community health and wellbeing.

What are the entry requirements?

We offer two entry routes onto the BSc (Hons) Health, Well Being and Social Care.

Our standard offer is:

  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above to include English Language or Key Skills Level 2 in Literacy is accepted as an equivalent 

          AND

  • 220 UCAS points from any combination of A Levels, BTEC or other UCAS tariff qualifications

Our non-standard offer is:

  • A minimum of one GSCE at grade C or above in English Language or Key Skills Level 2 in Literacy is accepted as an equivalent

          AND

  • An Access to Higher Education Diploma in Health Professions or Science (Overall Pass is required for all modules)

          OR

  • Attainment of 65% or above in the University of Bradford Foundation Year or appropriate Science Foundation Year

How will I be assessed?

Students will be assessed by written assignments, poster presentations, presentations and a dissertation.

There are no clinical placements on this course.
