Established in 1992 by the late Professor Tom Kitwood, we are the only academic Division of Dementia Studies in the world to offer a BSc in Dementia Studies.
Our BSc in dementia studies provides a route for individuals and organisations to address and continue to improve quality of care, through providing those undertaking the programme with essential knowledge and skills to recognise and promote good practice and facilitate practice based change and development. The course is ideally suited to people who want to facilitate practice based change within their organisation, or for people who want to go on to undertake a specialist role in dementia care
The BSc in Dementia Studies is a part-time course delivered via distance learning over a period of two years. Since the course is part-time distance learning course, learners who are combining study with busy work and home life have the flexibility to study at times that are convenient.
