Study Days

Our Study Days, led by experts in the field, are designed to help you to gain a deeper understanding of the current developments in the care of people with dementia and their families.

Study Days take place at the University of Bradford, but can also be commissioned by health and social care organisations for in-house delivery. All course participants receive study packs including a resource list and a University of Bradford Certificate of Attendance.

Once participants have attended one or more study days, many choose to enrol on a part time undergraduate or postgraduate course.

We offer study days on the following topics:

  • An Introduction to Dementia
  • Person-centred Care
  • Person-centred Care Planning
  • Understanding Behaviour in Dementia
  • End of Life Care for People with Dementia
  • Early Diagnosis and Support for People with Dementia
  • Best Interests Assessments relating to people with dementia
  • Reminiscence and Life Story Work with People with Dementia
  • Activities, Engagement and Occupation for People with Dementia
  • Emotions at the Heart of Person-Centred Dementia Care
  • Teaching Dementia Awareness: Skills and Approaches
  • Improving Dementia Practice

We are also able to commission in-house study days for health and social care organisations with several staff who would benefit from this training. For an individual discussion, please contact Paul Edwards - p.edwards1@bradford.ac.uk or telephone 01509 646251.
