MSc Diversity Management

Course Description

The PG Certificate, PG Diploma & MSc in Diversity Management are designed for managers and practitioners in health, social care, housing, criminal justice system and other public community/voluntary sectors who are responsible for managing equality and diversity issues in their organisations.

The course draws upon the expertise of a wide range of recognised researchers and practitioners in Diversity management to ensure that students receive tuition at the cutting edge of policy and practice.  All lectures are underpinned by research evidence, are outcomes focused and draw upon established theoretical framworks that are relevant to current diversity practice. 

The CMI award which are also available provide professional accredited recognition for learning in leadership and management.  Managers can choose to register for a single module or several modules as an Associate student without registering for an award.

Curriculum Details

The course team will adopt a blended approach to delivering the MSc Diversity Management and its nested awards.  This will involve the economic and flexible benefits of e-learning alongside the learning dynamics of an interactive, facilitator-led classroom through webinars, web conferences anf face to face study days or equivalent activities.

Each module is assessed separately using a variety of assessment methods, including written reports or papers, presentations or learning diaries.

In addition to the taught element of each of the modules, students have online access to a virtual learning environment (VLE) which provides additional learning materials.

PG Diploma in Diversity Management

MSc Diversity Management

Students are also eligible to apply for the following CMI awards on completion of their studies:

  • PG Certificate- Level 7-CMI Award in Leadership and Management
  • PG Diploma- Level 7-CMI Certificate in Leadership and Management
  • MSc-Level7-CMI Diploma in Leadership and Management

What are the entry requirements?

Applicants should:

  • Normally hold a first degree or equivalent professional qualification.  However applicants who do not possess this qualification, but have appropriate work experience may also be considered.
  • You are normally in paid or voluntary employment.
  • Evidence of professional development and the ability to study at Master's level.
  • Have an IELTS score of at least 6.5, with at least 5.5 in each of the four sub-tests.
