Monthly Update - October 2010

The current construction works are progressing to time. The Level 0 and Level 1 concrete slabs and walls have now been cast to the new extension, with the concrete walls and floors of Levels 2 & 3 to be cast during November.

The steel frame that links Horton A and Horton D will be completed during the month of November and a section of the bunker will be demolished to create access for the new Level 1 PACS suite. Internally, the ground floor partitions within the existing Horton Building, creating the clinical skills and physiotherapy suites have now been completed and office spaces are beginning to take shape, as partitioning to the existing building on Level 3 is completed.

Scaffolding has now been erected along the Great Horton Road side of the building so that work can begin on the new highly insulated window installations. Drainage works to the Peace Gardens have now also been completed, with the area affected restored to its previous condition.
