Many research staff have already heard about the University's online research archive ' Bradford Scholars' and started contributing a selection of their research papers.
There are a number of benefits to having content in the archive:
Our aim is to provide an enter-once-use-many-times approach to research information management. A good example of this is the forthcoming Research Excellence Framework (REF) exercise where data can be fed directly from the repository into the REF workflow. We envisage other collaborative links between Bradford Scholars and the University research activities further down the line, including the annual research monitoring exercise and online staff profiles.
We would urge researchers to begin depositing their journal articles, book chapters and other scholarly materials in Bradford Scholars to prepare for the REF. Most staff already have their 2008 RAE content in Bradford Scholars. We are calling all research staff to begin contributing content published since 2008. Getting started is easy: simply visit the repository homepage at http://bradscholars.brad.ac.uk/ and login with your UoB login details. Further information on how to get started is also available on the Bradford Scholars homepage or you can contact repository staff via email: bradscholars@bradford.ac.uk.
If your School or Department is already compiling research publication information in a local database, the Bradford Scholars team is happy to discuss a centralised approach to uploading School/Dept research publications into the repository. To have a chat about this option, get in touch with bradscholars@bradford.ac.uk.
