University or NHS Approval

Initially please see the to determine whether your research project will require ethical approval.

If your research project will involve the NHS, i.e. involving NHS premises or participants [patients or staff] or data [including stored tissue], then you will need to seek approval through your local NHS Research Ethics Committee.

Where an application involves potential approval by a NHS Research Ethics Committee, staff should seek advice from the Chairman of the University Committee for Ethics in Research [Professor Rob Newell, ext. 6474, email: r.j.newell@bradford.ac.uk] before it is forwarded to the NHS REC.
