The University has a Career Development Services Department. They are a dedicated team of professionals whose mission is "to provide high quality client focused careers education and supporting services to University of Bradford students and graduates to enable them to consider and implement appropriate career decisions."
Below is a list of services that Businesses can take advantage of:
Our vacancy advertising service is now completely online. It provides a quick, free way of advertising vacancies to students and graduates. Whatever type of vacancy you seeking to fill, we can help. The system allows jobseekers to search on a wide range of options including location, degree subject and type of work. They can also set up automatic email alerts, so if your opportunity matches their search criteria they will receive email notification of your vacancy.
Many of our courses require students to do a year's work placement between years 2 and 3 of their course, and all of them allow students to intercalate a year to gain work experience. In addition, many students look for vocationally relevant experience during the vacations.
Whatever type of work experience opportunity you can offer - placements, summer internships, workshadowing, volunteering etc. - we can help you make contact with interested students.
Our JobShop can help you find part-time, temporary and casual staff. We advertise opportunities on our Jobs Online database which also sends out targeted emails. In addition, we can offer a facilitated 'matching' service, saving you time and work.
Our students possess a wide range of skills and many of them have previous experience gained from either working during their studies or, in the case of mature students, prior to commencing University. Our international students too, usually have permission to work during their studies and in the vacations. Consequently, we can often provide candidates at very short notice, helping you out of staffing emergencies.
We advertise part-time vacancies up to 15 hours per week and full time vacancies during vacations.
We can organise an individual event for you on campus, such as a presentation or `drop-in day¿, or you can attend one of our major careers events. These include a careers fair which focuses on local opportunities for students and graduates (20 Mile Fair), and the annual prestigious Yorkshire Graduate Recruitment Fair which is organised in partnership with the University of Leeds.
You can interview both students and graduates on campus and we will help you make all the arrangements and provide the facilities.
