Departmental Scholarships and Discounts at Bradford

A scholarship is a source of non-repayable financial support that can be awarded on the basis of academic achievement, the production of an essay or project, or it can be linked to studying a specific subject or living in a certain area.

The list below shows the scholarships and awards that may be offered in any one academic year. Contact each department for further information.

School of Computing, Informatics and Media

Applicable courses All full-time undergraduate and taught postgraduate courses.
Eligible students International students (not EU) who are nationals of countries listed by the World bank as being low income economies or low/middle income economies.
Criteria Students who meet or exceed the course entry requirements. These are automatically processed by the school and no separate application is required. Further details from the departments' admission offices.
Amount and frequency of payment £2000 fee discount per year of course (excluding any placement years)
Number of scholarships available Available for all who meet eligibility criteria
School discounts for alumni The School offers a 10 - 20% discount for graduates that have previously studied an undergraduate course at the School. See the School website for more information.

School of Engineering, Design and Technology

Applicable courses All Undergraduate full-time courses (BEng, BSc, or MEng Honours) in EDT
Eligible students Home and EU
Criteria The Scholarships will be awarded in strict order of academic performance as indicated by the end of first semester marks across the whole School (must be at least 2(i) standard)
Amount and frequency of payment One payment of £500 at the end of Semester 1

Applicable courses Mechanical, Automotive and Design Engineering Undergraduate Honours courses
Eligible students Home and EU and International
Criteria Semester 1 assessment marks being at least 2(i) standard
Amount and frequency of payment One payment of £500

School of Life Sciences

School of Social and International Studies

Name of scholarship Peace Scholarships - the Adam Curle Scholarship and the James O'Connell Scholarship

Applicable courses Full-time degree course in the Division of Peace Studies
Eligible students Home, EU and International
Criteria The scholarships are awarded to students who have the potential for high academic achievement, as well a range of relevant interests and experiences outside of formal education. This will be assessed via the answer to the essay question - Why do you want to study Peace Studies?
Amount and frequency of payment £1000 per year over 3 years - a total of £3000 per scholarship
Number of scholarships available 2
