Careers
- Life After Graduation
Our graduate employment record
is amongst one of the best in the country and the University's objective
of 'Making Knowledge Work', is much more than just a strapline.
We have an excellent Career
Development Service, which is there to help you from day one of your
time at University.
The University of Bradford
has been ranked second out of 112 universities in the UK for graduate
employment, after Cambridge University (Times' Good University Guide 2006).
Work
placements, modules on career planning, vacation and part-time employment,
skills development, careers seminars and workshops, are just some of the
services that are immediately available to you.
Many students consider taking
a gap year before, during or after their course. Many employers see taking
time out as a beneficial experience which can improve your future job
prospects - providing you use your time profitably. Our Career
Development Service can offer you advice on what opportunities may
be open to you and advice on how it may affect your prospects.
The Student Development Office
and the Students' Union organise
a number of relevant activities on campus including various training opportunities.
Many of the courses are designed and delivered by students, including
IT workshops, so you could even become a trainer yourself.
