Vocationally-related qualifications and the courses they lead on to

The University welcomes applications from candidates pursuing vocational qualifications, and has a long history of doing so.

The following list of BTEC or Vocational A Level (AVCE) subject areas gives you an indication of the sort of courses you might like to consider. However, some of our courses, especially in the more popular areas, may be unwilling to make you an offer on the basis of your Vocational A Levels alone. This is certainly true of our Optometry, Pharmacy, Chemistry, Language and some Engineering courses. In these cases, you may well need a GCE A level, usually in a specific subject, in addition to your Vocational A Level.

If you are in any doubt about whether you are likely to be made an offer for a particular course, contact the relevant Admissions Tutor for advice.
