Visit the University

Do come and visit us! Prospective students, parents, teachers, careers officers, groups from schools and colleges; you are all welcome. We would like you to meet staff and current students, and see our facilities for yourself before you make any final decisions. If you haven't been before, a visit may also give you a truer picture of Bradford than you may have already.

General Open Days

We usually hold three general Open Days each year, one in early Autumn, one around Easter, and one in July. These are designed to help you make your final decision on which courses and universities to put on your UCAS form.

Open Days give you the opportunity to tour the campus (usually with a current student guide), look at the accommodation and student facilities, visit one or two individual academic departments, and have one-to-one conversations with Admissions Tutors. There are talks on aspects of the application process and on student life. Open Days let you get a 'feel' for the University and student life, to help you decide whether Bradford is the right place for you.

Dates for 2007 are 7th March, 7th July, 6th October 2007

"Overall the Open Day was very good and useful and I will definitely apply come January"

If you apply to Bradford and we make you an offer, you will probably be invited to a Departmental Visit Day, sometimes called an Applicant Visit Day. Many Departments no longer conduct formal interviews, but these visits do enable you to have a much more concentrated look at your chosen Department. If possible, you should try to attend any visit day you are invited to, as it will help you make the right decision.

Private Visits

You may be able to arrange a special visit either with your chosen Department direct, or through the Centralised Enquiries Office. We may not be able to arrange a visit to a specific academic department for every individual student, but we will do our best to help.

Or we can visit you!

Our Schools and Colleges Liaison staff are always pleased to come and visit schools and colleges in person, wherever possible. We can talk to groups of pupils (of any age) or staff about all aspects of university life, study, course choice and application; not just at Bradford, but in the context of universities and higher education in general. We also offer a programme of specialist lectures given by members of academic staff.
