Colourful Bradford
Melting pot may be an overused
phrase but Bradford is truly diverse, with people from all over the world
making this great Northern city their home.
The city's pride in its communities
is on show in all its glory at the annual Bradford Festival. The Lord
Mayor's Parade is the showstopping event, being one of the largest outdoor
events in the country with floats of every theme imaginable processing
through the streets. The International Street Theatre Festival and the
Bradford Mela also bring locals and visitors alike together to enjoy the
flavours of living in a global community.
The friendly attitude of Bradford
folk still disarms many visitors to the city who often comment on how
helpful everyone has been on their way to the campus. Bradford has a population
of 486,000 making it the fourth largest Metropolitan District in the country
but people can still find a minute to discuss the day's weather or tell
you a little about the fascinating story of this historic city.
"The fact that Bradford
is such a diverse city with various communities residing together is excellent.
The campus environment is very friendly, students do their own things
and you have the opportunity to concentrate on what is important for you"
