Short Courses

University education is best known as a means to study for an honours degree, masters degree or a PhD.

However, we also offer a variety of shorter awards or free standing units, modules or courses.  These can be designed specifically to meet employers' needs and can later be counted towards a further award or qualification.  Short courses are useful for those who need to; update on a particular aspect of their job role; develop a very specific set of knowledge or skills; meet particular legal requirements; or where learners or employers do not wish to commit to a longer qualification.

A Foundation Degree integrates work-based learning and academic study.  It is the equivalent of the first two years of an honours degree and is typically studied over two years full time, or longer if part time.

We also offer diplomas and certificates at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, which can be studied over periods of six months and upwards.

Short courses or modules can be designed to meet employers' requirements and delivered in blocks, such as day/weekend/evening or as work-based or blended learning.
