Higher Level Training

Our remit is to support the development of 'higher level skills'.  These are typically above level 3, which is equivalent to A Level standard.  This means that the majority of our provision will be at level 4 and above, which is the first year of a traditional degree programme.  This is suitable for those at managerial or professional level or for those who require technical or specific skills at this level of learning, sometimes referred to as Assistant Practitioners or Associate Professionals.

This does not mean, however, that individuals necessarily need to have prior formal education to this level before they embark on a learning programme.  Our employee learning programmes are particularly suitable for those who have progressed through a vocational or career route and whose prior experience provides a suitable preparation for higher level skills development or education.

Higher level training can be incorporated into work-based learning, programmes that are designed and accredited specifically for employers or accredited in-company training.

The University offers higher level learning across a wide range of subject areas and we would be happy to discuss your needs.  Also, because we work with a broad range of partners we can signpost you to appropriate alternative provision if we are unable to fulfil your requirements.
