Bradford Media School graduate to change how people with disabilities work within the television industry
Thomas Williams recently graduated from BA Media Studies with Television. Despite his severe disabilities he has not let this hold him back and will leave the University of Bradford to make great developments as to how the television industry works. For his final year dissertation, Thomas discussed how to facilitate disabled employees within the Television industry. In researching the thesis he interviewed leading players from the 2012 London Olympics and Paralympics, Cirque du Soleil, The Royal Albert Hall, the BBC, ITV, Channel Four, BSkyB, Rough Cut Television, Discovery UK, the Guardian and Creative Skillset among many others.
Resulting from this, Sky TV will be publishing his final dissertation internally to staff and Thomas will be working alongside Sky TV to help facilitate this. At this year’s graduation Thomas also received an award from the Bradford Media School for his dissertation in achieving the highest mark overall. Given his achievements so far, Thomas will go on to make a significant change as to how people with disabilities work within the television industry.
