Vice-Chancellor honours Science Bridges China programme

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Brian Cantor, CBE has this week presented 24 awards recognising those who have made an outstanding contribution to the life of the University.

Within the School of Engineering many of our academics have been praised for their work as part of the Bradford Science Bridges China programme. The whole team was awarded for their Outstanding Achievement; an impressive decade of strategic partnership with China.

Professor Phil Coates, Dr Pete Twigg, Dr Fin Canton-Rose,  Dr Adrian Kelly, Dr Ben Whiteside, Professor Clive Beggs and Professor Alastair Wood are just a few of the academics from across the University who are dedicated to growing and improving our strategic relationships and links with China in order to develop knowledge transfer, training and assist with commercialisation of healthcare-related products.

Each of the Vice-Chancellor’s awards recognises work which achieved the overarching objectives of the new University Strategy:

  • Excellence
  • Internationalisation
  • Equality and diversity
  • Sustainability

The assessment panel, made up of staff and students, have said that they were impressed by the number, strength and overall quality of the field of nominations this year.
