Computer Science Student Profiles
"Studying Postgraduate Computer Science at the University of Bradford has been an exceeding valuable experience for me. Many of the academic staff I was taught and supervised by showed passion and understanding of their subjects unlike any I have experienced before, making my education at Bradford both enjoyable and excitingly challenging.
The University played a large role in involving me in social activities in Computing both at the University itself and also with the British Computer Society where I made contact with many people working in the Computing Industry. The skills and contacts I obtained from my studies at Bradford have now resulted in my full time employment as a Software Developer, a great start to a hopefully long and successful career."

BSc(Hons) Intelligent Systems and Robotics
"I was always fascinated by ground breaking technology and the processes behind it, hence my attraction to Robotics and Artificial Intelligence fields. These are both multi-disciplinary fields, requiring knowledge in writing software and related to the physical counterpart.
"University of Bradford offered me the chance to study subjects from different fields such as Computing, Engineering and Mathematics, covering a variety of the required aspects behind the fields."
BSc(Hons) Computing and Information Systems
"Bradford has always kept in touch with the pace of changing technology, modules are adapted to include improving technologies in the world. For example I have recently completed a module in web technologies but it also incorporates upcoming future technologies. They keep changing and always try to implement that in the modules and teaching material.
"In terms of my placement, it was really good decision to make. I was in my second year and debating whether I should do a web placement. When I started my placement I found out that there’s a lot that I learnt at uni but also how I can apply that to a work environment. It helped me to take direction as to what I need to focus on when I got back to university."
BSc(Hons) ICT (with placement year)
"After visiting the University during one of the Open Days I was impressed having spoken to the Computing lecturers, particularly about the number of students who secured industrial placements and also having looked at facilities available to students.
"I chose the course as it covers a wide range of computing skills including: programming languages and database design and implementation as well as the business and media skills elements within the course."
"I chose this course due to my keen interest in technology, business and management. I also felt it would give me useful skills in industry in the future due to technology being a large part of everyday life and business processes. The staff are all friendly and really helpful."
"The lecturers are very helpful and the facilities are great: high-quality systems to which you have access 24/7 which helps motivate you to complete your coursework and start your own projects."
BSc ICT(Hons) With Business
"The reason I chose this course was because I have a passion for Business and ICT. This course provided me with both the knowledge and experience in information technology solutions and within management. I have really enjoyed the course as I have learnt and I believe I have overcome several hurdles, improving my technical skills such as team working and report writing and theoretical skills in management and database management. My experience of dealing with the staff at Bradford has been flawless. They have always been there to help with a smile on their face."
"The staff at the University of Bradford are very helpful and approachable. Whenever I have had any concerns, I felt comfortable in approaching my lecturers. I am certain that the facilities at Bradford are among the best in the country, particularly the labs, which offer computers with the very latest hardware and software.
