High Quality printing facilities - Inprint + Design

Inprint and Design have a new service providing high-quality, large-format printing and lamination/encapsulation facilities for poster creation, up to A0 size on matt and silk materials.

These facilities are particularly relevant for poster creation for research (conferences etc), admissions activities and publicity.

Inprint and Design can accept a variety of file formats from both Mac and PC including QuarkXpress, Adobe Pagemaker, Freehand & Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, Word 2000, Powerpoint 2000 and Publisher 2000.

Staff and students currently in the process of creating posters are encouraged to try out these new facilities for themselves.

Inprint and Design are more than happy to speak to staff and students about any particular requirements they may have and are ready to advise regarding file formatting, file delivery and output.

The Web version of the April LSS Bulletin is now available.

Please note particularly that the unprecedented demand for the Dial-up Service has forced a review of the use of this service, and staff and off-campus students are now urged to use a public Internet Service Provider (ISP).

This issue also outlines the steps you can take to deal with junk mail.

£50 Prize - Volunteers needed for research

£50 Prize - Volunteers needed for research into effects of cigarette smoke

Researchers at the University of Bradford (Hamid Behroozi, Prof Mike Ashmore, Prof Val Randall) are trying to establish whether there are different levels of metal ions in the hair and blood of people exposed to cigarette smoke.

They need volunteers who either:

  • (i) smoke
  • (ii) are regularly exposed to other people's smoke or
  • (iii) have almost no exposure to cigarette smoke

Volunteers will be asked to donate small samples of hair and blood, and to complete a short questionnaire.

If you willing to help us with this study please e-mail Hamid Behroozi (a.h.behroozi@bradford.ac.uk) and indicate into which of the above categories you fall.

Everybody will be entered into a raffle with a prize of £50 for the winner.
