We need to update our records on the number and location of watercoolers in use across the University.
Therefore could you please let me know of any machine which is located near to you. I only need to know the School Name, Department Name, Building, Room No or Area in which this machine is located.
Once we have collated this information, it is our intention to carry out a site survey to establish whether or not we can install point of use watercoolers into these areas, as opposed to the current free standing machines.
Your co-operation would be appreciated.
Please respond via e-mail to i.p.stow@bradford.ac.uk
Thanks
Ian Stow
Purchasing Services
This is a central Scheme managed by the University's Staff Development Administrator which financially supports applications from staff to attend external courses leading to a qualification up to and including first-degree level.
For more information go to: http://www.brad.ac.uk/admin/staffdev/PET or contact Helen (see below).
The Scheme has been under review during 2003/4 as part of the intention to give Planning Units/Administrative Departments more opportunity to oversee their staff's training and development needs and make more informed decisions on how to allocate Staff Development budgets fairly amongst all their staff. Recommendations to Planning Units/Administrative Departments to devolve the decision making for applications during 2004/5 and the budgets during 2005/6 have been considered by the Staff Development & Training Sub-Committee and are currently being considered by Personnel Committee, so a final decision has not be taken yet.
I'm writing to staff now before the final decision has been made to let you know that the usual deadline (18 June) will be extended and the person to send E1 applications to may change. However, the policy for decisions will still apply.
I will be sending further information out to all staff when a final decision has been made (later in June). Assuming the proposals are approved, the information will explain the new process. The only exception to this is applications for the internal European Computer Driving Licence course, which will still need to be sent to the Staff Development Unit on form E1c by Friday 18 June. The form and further information is available on the PET website or from the Staff Development Unit.
Please contact Helen if you have any queries or request at: staffdev@bradford.ac.uk or on ext. 3096.
8, 9 and 10 June, 7.30pm at Theatre in the Mill
Theatre in the Mill and Tasmin Little Music Centre present a joint production of The Threepenny Opera (1928) by Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht.
Tickets £4.50, concessions £3.00 and £1 for Music Society Members
Fusing jazz with classical elements, the Weill/Brecht combination captures the satirical reference to 1920's German life, evoking the atmosphere of that period by its jazzy and brilliant scoring. The Threepenny Opera contains the 'hit' number Mack the Knife, recently re-vamped by Robbie Williams.

1 - 11 June, open 11am - 3pm weekdays
This exhibition marks the culmination of work by University of Bradford students on the Final Year module Imaging Innovations. Twenty students and two tutors in the Department of Electronic Imaging and Media Communications have all participated in a year long programme of activities. This is very much a group show. As such it reflects the overall philosophy of the course and has students working in close partnership with tutors and each other to produce work specifically intended for public exhibition. The work is personally challenging and is the ultimate expression of students' (as well as tutors') creative thinking.
Much of the work stems from the detailed consideration of real urban and public spaces. It is also an investigation into the material and social nature of creativity and innovation in visual communication and design.
This exhibition is being run in conjunction with the EIMC Final Year Show taking place at the National Museum of Photography, Film and Television.
