The University has a number of policies and procedures and offers training sessions to assist managers in handling cases of sick absence in a fair and sensitive way.
These include the Sickness Management policy which is available on the website at www.brad.ac.uk/admin/personnel/SicknessManagementPolicy
There is also the facility to refer employees to the Occupational Health Service for advice on their health. The OHS is a resource which can help to facilitate a return to health for the individual and enables managers to obtain professional guidance on both the nature of the absence and means of supporting individuals on their return to work. I would also like to draw your attention to the services of the Disability Office, who can assist employees with some health-related difficulties at work, and are able to offer advice and assistance on re-integrating employees whose health problems have left them at a disadvantage.
If you have any queries about sickness absence please do not hesitate to contact the Personnel Officer for your area.
9.30:15.30 Thursday 11 December 2003
Then join us on 11 December to find out how.
Any donations of household goods and/or winter clothes for the UBU Recycle shop would be greatly appreciated.
