Lectures, seminars and newsletters

New. Bradford School of Management research seminar - this week

Hidden Aspects of Home-Based Telework, Dr Suzanne Tietze, Wednesday 22 March, 1.00 pm, Room 11, Emm Lane

This talk focuses on the organisational consequences of homeworking practices as it explores how social and organisational relationships are changed through the introduction of home-based telework. Based on two empirical case studies, the talk focuses on the reception of homebased telework from a variety of different perspectives, including that of corporate HR management, line management, team leaders, colleagues of homeworkers, the homeworkers themselves as well as their households. Conceptually, the talk will explore the 'invisible aspects' of work, which become subject to change through the implementation of this flexible form of work: invisible places; routine/manual tasks; word done by invisible people and informal processes and communication will be used as the bedrock to explore the empirical data.

Please let me know if you wish to attend.

Kathy Cousens, k.a.cousens@bradford.ac.uk
