General University notices
Fees, bursaries and scholarships - the situation from September 2006
Invite from Geoff Layer, PVC Learning and Teaching; Alison Darnbrough,
Director of Marketing and Corporate Communications; Sarah Verbickas, Student
Bursaries Officer
This important briefing will update staff on the new fees situation from
September 2006, and the key message that HE is now free at the point of
entry for all FT Undergraduate students from the UK and EU.
The presentation will also look at the financial support available from
the Government and the support that the University of Bradford is offering
via the University of Bradford Bursary scheme.
With 70% of our new students from September 2006 expected to be in receipt
of a University of Bradford Bursary, it is important that all staff are
aware of how the scheme works and exactly who is eligible for the support.
This is particularly the case for all staff who deal with "new students"
in any way.
The briefing will be relevant for all staff - academic and administrative.
Please try to attend one of the sessions listed below.
Briefing dates and times are:
Tuesday 21 February 2006, 1pm - 2pm, Heaton Mount, Ambler room. Aimed
at staff from the School of Management
Wednesday 22 February 2006. Three 40 minute sessions at: 12.30pm,
1.20pm and 2.10pm
Chesham Building, Lecture Theatre B4.02. Aimed at all staff from other
Schools on main campus.
NB: Staff need only attend one of the briefings

Please complete our Training Survey
The University's staff development training providers will be devising
their programmes for 2006-2007 within the next few months.
We are reviewing how our courses are advertised, and would be grateful
if you would complete a very brief questionnaire about how you find out
about them. There are 6 questions which mainly require you to just "tick"
the appropriate boxes, but there is also provision for you to supply your
own comments, if you wish to do so.
Here is the link to the survey, which should take you less than 5 minutes
to complete:
http://qmark.brad.ac.uk/q/open.dll?NAME=training_survey&GROUP=training_survey&SESSION=9116544426219972
(will open in a new window)
We would be grateful if you could complete and submit the survey by Friday,
10 March 2006. Thank you.
