New. Meeting Maker Time Zone Setting

As you will be aware the Meeting Maker diary software was upgraded on the weekend of January 10th to a new version.

The new client requires a time zone setting to correctly work out appointment times. Many users have chosen GMT as the time zone for their clients. Unfortunately this does not allow for daylight saving time and any appointments after March 28th will be booked for the wrong time.

The correct time zone is 'England, London (GBR)' and can be set by clicking on the 'select' button to the right of the Time Zone on the login screen.

Computer Centre.

New. Cares@Christmas - thanks

UCAN staff would like to extend their sincere thanks to all staff and students that made donations and volunteered their time to Cares@Christmas 2003.

The beneficiary organisation - Horton Housing Association - were extremely grateful and explained that their Christmas celebrations were wonderful.

Your donations and effort made Christmas for a number of their service users. You provided over 80 gift wrapped food hampers and over 80 goody bags. It was a truly rewarding experience in which to be involved.

There will be an article in News and Views (February 2004 edition).

Once again, thank you for all of your effort in making this event a genuine success.

Kindest regards, Caroline.
