Information for students - please pass on as appropriate
UK Home Undergraduate Students can collect their student loan cheques from Meeting Room 3 of the Communal Building from the 19th September. The cheques are available between 9.30am in the morning and 4.00pm.
After the 5th October the cheques will be available from Student Financial and Information Services Reception. Students need to bring their UBU Card and the Financial Assessment from the LEA or schedule from the Student Loan Company.
Student Financial and Information Services can only keep the cheques for 28 days.
Are you having a clear out?
There are always a few students whose student loan cheques are late, or discover they are short of cash for groceries. They would really appreciate any non-perishable foods that you can donate.
Student Financial and Information Services and the Student Advice Centre both situated in the Communal Building would be very pleased to receive anything that you can donate.

October Open Day - it's sooner than you think!
The next general open day is only 3 weeks away. If you have any additional requests ie. PCs for your stand, new posters, extra tables, chairs or power supplies, please let me know by 20th September.

Music Centre Open Days - September 2002

- Tuesday 17th 11am - 5pm
- Thursday 19th 1pm - 4pm
- On Thursday 19th September a live band "Nankivell's OpTet" will be rehearsing from 1pm to 4pm and visitors are welcome to watch.

New season at Theatre in the Mill
There's tons to do and see at Theatre in the Mill this season. The professional programme is packed full of exciting shows and there are loads of opportunities for staff, students and members of the public to get involved. Come and audition for our Christmas show, take part in one of our workshops, or come along to the Theatre Group meetings on a Monday to meet others with an interest in theatre.

Letters and Council Tax Certification
Student Financial and Information Services provide letters and Council Tax Certification for Students. Many first-year International Students will need letters to open bank account. Please note that a number of banks will only accept signatures from Student Financial and Information Servuces staff, after very stringent tightening of Banking regulations.
Please use our website, and encourage your students to do likewise. We deal with a very wide range of issues relating to student life and welfare. We provide information on a host of areas, and refer students to the person best suited to assist them. www.bradford.ac.uk/sfis

Baby items needed
Your generosity will be greatly appreciated if you are in a position to donate items for a baby to be born shortly. Items needed range from pram, cot, bath etc. to clothing. Staff were very generous last year in donating items and we hope you can do the same again.

Do you have a sporty relative?
Have you got a son, daughter, nephew, niece, grandson or granddaughter aged between 10 and 16 who is dotty about sport?
Would he/she like to receive some first class training to help them improve their game? If so, this course is for them.
It consists of a comprehensive cardio-vascular and resistance training programme in a controlled, safe and secure environment. The new course costs £60 and lasts for 20 sessions, beginning on Wednesday 16th October 2002.
