Homelink - request for participants

The School of Management seeks local people who are willing to host two or three overseas students, once a month for a three-month period initially. The same students would be involved each time.

Each year the Bradford University School of Management welcomes several hundred students from overseas onto a range of degree level courses. Their first year, particularly the first three months, can be difficult for overseas students, as they adjust to a new country, new way of life and new way of learning. Although overseas students gain much support from each other, it can be, at first, a lonely experience for many of them. On Sundays, for example, in their home countries they would enjoy extended family gatherings and is the day in Britain when they feel most isolated.

Full details are available in pdf format, or contact:

Guidelines for Assessment Committees and Boards of Examiners 2002/2003 session

The information pack which is circulated annually to help staff prepare for meetings of Assessment Committees and Boards of Examiners is now available in Departmental Offices.

The guidance documents derive from the University's Regulations and Procedures, which always take precedence over the guidelines where there is any apparent discrepancy. Please note that this year, in view of financial constraints, the pack is not automatically being circulated to all members of academic staff.

In an effort to target recipients more effectively, Departmental Secretaries/Administrators are being sent three copies, to distribute to key staff involved in the Boards of Examiners process within Departments.

The Information Pack is available on the Web at http://www.brad.ac.uk/admin/acsec/assu/board_of_examiners_information_p.htm or via the ASSU Information Page on http://www.brad.ac.uk/admin/acsec/assu/information.htm

If you have any queries about the regulations, the information pack or the operation of Assessment Committees and Boards of Examiners, assistance can be obtained from the appropriate contact person in ASSU for your School.
