New. European Computer Driving Licence
Applications to join the programme next year

The European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) is an internationally recognised IT qualification demonstrating basic computer literacy over a wide range of common applications.

Staff Development is able to fund a number of places under the Post-Entry Training scheme.

If you are interested in applying for one of these places for next year, you will first need to attend one of the lunchtime ECDL Information sessions held from 1pm - 2pm in room 2.7 J B Priestley Library on: Monday 26 April 2004, or Thursday 13 May 2004.

Closing date for applications is Friday 18 June 2004.

To book a place on one of these sessions, e-mail training@bradford.ac.uk giving your name and department, or telephone David on ext 5356.

New. News from Purchasing

Purchasing have started a Tender process, for which we are inviting Suppliers to express an interest in providing a Business Travel Service for the University.

It is our intention to set up a small work group to evaluate both the University's requirements and the potential suppliers responses.

Should you wish to be involved in this group then please drop me an e-mail to register your interest. If you are unable to be a part of the group but would still like to contribute information and or express your own departmental requirements then please do not hesitate to contact me.

Annual Staff Review 2004

Technical, Clerical & Related Staff

The documentation for Technical, Clerical and Related Staff will be sent out at the end of March, with a closing date of 21 May 2004. There will be a different application process this year to align it with the job evaluation exercise, which is currently taking place. Manual Staff

The documentation for the Manual Staff Grading scheme will be available from the end of March, either from the Personnel website, the Personnel Office or supervisors in Estates & Facilities. The closing date will be 21 May 2004. The application form this year is slightly different and workshops will be available during April to give some assistance in completing the application. Academic Related Staff

The documentation for Academic Related Staff will be sent out 22 March, with a closing date of 16 April 2004. The procedure in relation to these staff will remain as it has been in the past.

Animal Magic at Gallery II

Award-winning wildlife artist Helen Gibbons is coming to the University of Bradford's Gallery II for her first solo exhibition between Friday, March 19 and Thursday, April 8, 2004.

'Animalistic' features wild, cute, cuddly and ferocious animals drawn and painted in amazing detail - something Helen is known for. Prints and most paintings will be for sale.
