Have any of your families, friends or students ever thought about self-employment or postgraduate study and want to know more?

This dynamic event offers the opportunity to look at the options open to you and to get advice and guidance from the experts. The event is split into two distinct strands - the Self-Employment Show (11am - 3pm) and the Postgraduate Fair (11am - 6pm).

There will also be information available on part-time study opportunities at all levels from single modules to undergraduate and postgraduate opportunities.

Whether you're not sure where you want to go, or you just need some help in getting there, come along and find out more.

Registering for a Qualification Course?
Post Entry Training Scheme details

Deadline for submission of applications - Friday 20 June 2003

The Post Entry Training (PET) Scheme is a centrally administered scheme that provides financial support and confirmation of day release for members of University staff who apply to attend vocational and educational courses which lead to a qualification. The scheme is managed by the Staff Development Administrator. Approvals are agreed jointly by the Staff Development Unit and the relevant Personnel Officer on the recommendation of the Head of School/Planning Unit.

Staff who wish to apply for support to commence a vocational or educational course during September 2003 and August 2004, either on day release or in their own time, should complete an E1 application form (available on the web-site) and submit it, after confirmation by your appraiser and approval of your Head of School/Planning Unit, to Helen Dennett in the Staff Development Unit no later than 20 June 2003.

All applicants will be informed of the outcome in writing at the beginning of August. Applications received after the deadline of 20 June 2003 will be considered in order of receipt. Levels of support will be largely dependent on the remaining unallocated budget.

If for any reason your Head of School/Planning Unit does not support your application, and you still wish to go ahead with it, please contact the relevant Personnel Officer to discuss this. We encourage participation from part-time and temporary staff and would be willing to discuss details with applicants individually on request.

Notification of the deadline for applications and further information has been forwarded to members of the Senior Management Group and Heads of Departments this week.

If you have attended and completed a Post Entry Training course and have not done so already, could you please submit your exam results to the Staff Development Unit. The University requires exam results, particularly if you intend to undertake further Post Entry Training.
