The University has taken part in a collaborative project with Oxford Brookes University and Bournemouth University to look at how institutions can create distinctiveness in the sector.
The Distinct project, a HEFCE-funded initiative, launched its website in early May - www.distinct.ac.uk (external link). The website includes a toolkit of resources, such as the Mission Statement Exercise and guidance on influencing others and sector guidance.
This website launch is about starting to facilitate the conversation on distinctiveness across the sector. Resources and discussion pieces will be added throughout the project, which ends in summer 2012. The project will be enhanced by the feedback we get, so please join the debate on distinctiveness through the website.
