Burglaries and thefts from Des Cogan, Security Manager In the year ending 31st December 2000 there were 158 reported burglaries and thefts in University premises, most of which involved small items of personal property, including wallets, purses, briefcases, handbags and clothing. In the year ending 31st December 1999 there were 234 reported burglaries and thefts. The reduction in burglaries and thefts, of approximately 32%, is encouraging, and is largely attributable to the vigilance and co-operation of members of staff and students. Des Cogan, Security Manager, would like to remind all staff that there is no room for complacency and all members of staff and students should take every possible precaution to ensure the security of their property and that of the University. All staff should have a look at the full memo - click here.
