The academic year 2009-10 was a great success for Research and Knowledge Transfer. Not only did the University continue to build on established work but was also successful in starting many new research & knowledge transfer projects and partnerships.
In September 2009 the University established a number of multi-disciplinary, cross-school research and knowledge transfer centres working at the leading edge of research and innovation. Building on over 40 years of research activity, the centres deliver world-class research through collaboration with a range of universities, companies and organisations worldwide. All have impressive track records of research council funding, research studentships, and working with industry and business.
Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and Knowledge Transfer, Professor Phil Coates, said: "These Centres mark a major strategic development in the area of Research and Knowledge Transfer at the University of Bradford. They are focussed areas that we have chosen to invest in."
£6m has been invested from the University over three years into the first nine centres and other areas are being looked at to further invest in.
