Knowledge Exchange Partnership Programmes

Knowledge Exchange Partnership Programmes represents collaborative partnerships between JEFCAS and universities and institutions from across Africa, Europe and the United States. The focus of these programmes is to enhance mutual understanding and learning, while supporting education in Africa.

Our Programmes include:

  • Managing a partnership with Mzumbe University, Tanzania, under the Educational Partnerships in African scheme (2009-2010), funded by DIUS and British Council, to improve quality of graduates through collaborative teaching provision, and working with younger academic staff to help them become drivers of change. This partnership builds on historical links with this institution extending back 30 years and previous collaborative work in delivering programmes for FAO (2009-2010). In the longer term, we are developing a collaborative Masters and PhD programme to be delivered by Mzumbe staff. Read more >>
  • Maintaining SSIS' long long-term links with Cape Coast University, Ghana, who collaborate on the delivery of organizational capacity - building for the FCO Chevening Programme on Public Sector and Economic Governance Reform (Ongoing).
  • EU funded - collaborating with local Higher Education Partners in Zimbabwe (EU funded) to strengthen capacity for collaborative research and joint post-graduate teaching, contributing to staff development and capacity building in Africa University and University of Zimbabwe (2009-2010).
  • Delivering workshops on conflict transformation, democratic governance and development in Liberia, to universities in Liberia: Liberia, Cuttington, United Methodist Episcopal and American Methodist (2007).
