I would like to thank all friends and colleagues for their good wishes, flowers and presents that I received on leaving the University. I have met some lovely people and made many friends over the 36 years I have worked at the University, and I shall remember my time as a member of staff and a student of Local and Regional Studies with much affection. I shall think of you all when playing my music on the mini-hifi and CD player (and when looking at my watch; something which I need not do quite so often in the future)!
We expect all of our Qualified First Aiders to attend an Annual Skills Update once a year.

The external stone work to the Great Hall and Richmond Link Block is currently being cleaned by contractors.
It is possible that the work could be noisy at times, though the work will be carried out from mobile elevated platforms which will be segregated from pedestrians.
A temporary water supply will be provided via a secured hosepipe through the Great Horton entrance doors. Work is expected to be completed this Friday, 12 August.
The mains cold water within the Richmond Link will be disconnected from 4.30pm on Monday 8 August for approximately 1 hour whilst modifications are carried out to the system. This will affect the atrium coffee bar and female toilet area on level C. During the work the cold water services to these areas will be interrupted.
The isolation valves to undertake this work are located on the narrow link corridor of level E leading to the small hall. Whilst the valves are being shut off and opened access through this area will be restricted.
We apologise for any inconvenience this work may cause during these improvement works.
