National
Summer School
Students learnt about medicine
at a national specialist Summer School at the University, in collaboration
with the University of Leeds, and Bradford and Leeds NHS Trusts.
The Summer School was part
of the Government's 'Aim Higher' programme to widen participation in Higher
Education by young people from under-represented groups who may not otherwise
consider going to University.
The aim of the week - organised
by the Widening Participation Co-ordinator in Clinical Sciences, Andrea
Diston - was to allow students who may be thinking of a career in medicine
or a related profession to experience different aspects of University
life.
