Theatre in the Mill asks staff
- Are you ready to save the world this Christmas?
After
the smash success of New Writing Festival 2002, Theatre in the Mill's
new autumn season features a diverse range of local and national talent.
Left: Hit Edinburgh
Comedy 'Out of our Heads' will show at Theatre in the Mill on September
28th.
Following
special Freshers' Week events, the season opens on Saturday, September
28 with the hit Edinburgh comedy 'Out of Our Heads'. First-year students
should look out for a special ticket deal. Later on in the season, all
University staff can get concession ticket prices for 'Early Bird Fridays'.
Andrew Loretto, who
will step down as the University's Fellow in Theatre after this season,
said: "These shows start at 6.30pm on Fridays - so staff can come straight
from work, have a drink in the Mill's bar and be finished by 8pm! What's
more, if you organise an office outing of ten or more people, you'll get
a further 10% discount on ticket prices. If this is successful, then expect
to see more early shows next spring!"
There
is also a programme of free participatory events for all staff and students
- including 'Acting Lark' workshops led by top local theatre professionals.
The BBC also continues
its residency at the Mill with a diverse range of writing workshops for
television, film and radio. Anyone who would like to try their hand at
performing can audition for the Mill's Christmas show - 'The Secret Seven
Save the World'.
Audition workshops
will be held on Sunday, September 29th, from 2pm until 5pm and on Tuesday,
October 1st, from 6pm until 9pm. No experience is necessary.
