Launch of University and College's
Inprint and Design
The
University and Bradford College have launched their new print service
'Inprint and Design' with an official opening party.
Previously located
within separate buildings, the University and the College print and design
services recently merged to form a separate company. The two units have
now moved into new, larger, purpose-built premises near Carlton Street,
within the University Engineering block. Builders have been working on
the new office complex, which has been fitted with modern factory and
design facilities.

Director of Inprint
and Design Brian Pickles officially opened the new facilities. He said:
"We are delighted that, following months of hard work and reorganisation,
we are in a position to offer an improved service to customers both within
the University and the College as well as externally. This merger will
help to reduce costs and improve overall service levels and quality."
Those attending the
launch included Vice-Chancellor Professor Chris Taylor, Principal of Bradford
College Alan Hodgson, Heads of Departments and external clients as well
as members of Inprint and Design. The official opening guests were then
given a tour of the new offices.
Professor Taylor said:
"This is the first project between the University and the College which
brings together two different groups into one unit. It is crucial to have
a print service that is well resourced, has great staff, is well led and
can deliver both to administration staff and other customers both internally
and externally. This co-operation between the University and the College
has been cited in a positive context in the past and we have great hopes
for the future."
Mr Hodgson said: "I
was around when the idea to merge the two services was just a gleam in
our eye, but here it is and it is wonderful to see. We hope that Inprint
and Design will run as an example of a flagship enterprise between the
University and the College and it makes me profoundly optimistic about
the greater canvas we are trying to create for the future of our two institutions."
Previous collaboration
projects between the two institutions include academic programmes, Student
Services, sports programmes, Student Union activities, Residencies and
Catering Services, joint planning on campus improvements, and co-operation
on staffing and staff development.
