Pupils building rockets for the launch.Sixth-form pupils from across the region became scientists for a day when they launched their own rockets as part of National Science Week.

The pupils from Oakbank, in Keighley, Benton Park, in Leeds, and Pudsey Grangefield, in Leeds, were taught how to design and build their own rockets, which can soar up to 1000ft.
