SCHOOL OF HEALTH MAINTAINS INVESTORS
STATUS
The
University's School of Health Studies has successfully maintained its
Investors in People status, which it first attained in December 1997.
This is the first time any part of the University has been assessed under
the revised Investors in People standard, which was introduced in April
2000.

Dean of the School of Health Studies, Professor Jeff Lucas, said: "The
recognition is particularly valued by the School, not only in terms of
its commitment to how the standard assists us in meeting our aims and
objectives and valuing the contribution made by our staff, but also because
the Investors in People standard is highly valued by our NHS stakeholders."
The assessment took place over a two-day period. More than 30 staff from
the School, in the areas of teaching, research, technical, administrative
and secretarial functions, were interviewed by the Assessors.
The recognition means the School maintains its record in being the first
area within the University to achieve an Investors in People award. Staff
in two other areas - the School of Pharmacy and the Nursery - have previously
been rewarded for their hard work with an internal award of excellence,
entitled the 'University of Bradford's Award of Excellence in Developing
People'.
The University is currently working towards gaining Investors in People
recognition for the whole institution. It is expected external assessment
will begin this summer.
